An exciting year 2024 is coming to an end.
Above all, 2024 was marked by many new members joining RTG2416. Most of the PhD students in the third cohort started their research projects in the second half of the year, and we wish them all every success during their doctoral studies.Of course, we also had a wide range of guest speakers visit our research groups and laboratories in 2024. As always, we experienced exciting and highly interesting lectures and the in-depth exchanges in the various research fields were always highly appreciatetd from all sides. Also within the group, the opportunities for collaboration were further exploited and resulted in cooperation and joint publications. In particular, the exchange was lively in the relaxed atmosphere at our retreats. In spring, our trip took us to the beautiful hotel “Grosse Ledder” in the “Bergisch Land” and in November we were able to hold and enjoy the peace and quiet at the “Klosterhotel Maria Laarch”. Most of the new doctoral students from the 3rd cohort were also able to participate in our Fall Retreat. They were warmly welcomed into the group and a certain sense of optimism emerged, with which we would like to start the year 2025.
