Prof. Tom Beck took the long journey from Cincinnati on his shoulders to present an exclusive course for the RTG2416 on “Basic statistical mechanics and thermodynamics of ion transport and binding in channel proteins”

The Course took place between the 25th and 29th of November 2019

The course gave a tutorial on basic statistical mechanical methods directed at understanding molecular and ionic solvation and binding in biophysics.
It also provided a brief review of the neccessary thermodynamics and the Widom formula for the chemical potential.

The course was well accepted and a fruitful enrichment for the participants.
