As the pandemic is still ongoing we organized a virtual spring retreat on May 3rd and May 4th 2021. We enjoyed a successful meeting on the platforms Zoom and Gather.Town. We heard talks and were challenged during a virtual team building event. The interactive discussions on Gather.Town with different discussion topics as well as the informal meetings at the “Bar” on Gather.Town were well received. We also enjoyed an extraordinary keynote lecture by Prof. Dr.

Due to special times we organized a virtual retreat on November 26th & 27th 2020. Although a bit different from our last in-person retreats we had a successful meeting using the platforms Zoom and Gather.Town.

Due to the on-going restrictions caused by the pandemic we cannot be physically at the same place. Thus, we meet each other quite infrequently and only for official business. To rocket start our personal communication again, we would like to start The Beverage Club. We will meet on Wednesday evenings after work via zoom for all the informal conversations, that we didn’t have for the last months. So please take any drink you like (alcoholic or
Covid19 doesn’t give us a wide berth as well. But life has to go on.
Therefore, as many others, the RTG2416 also goes virtual.
Once again Covid19 thwarted our plans and we have to postpone the planned second Mercator Fellow Stay of Stephen Liberles, Ph.D. till the circumstances allow it again

Nadine is one of 660 young scientists from 101 countries who were selected to participate in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting from 28th June – 3rd July 2020 in Lindau, Germany. At the meeting she will have the unique opportunity to meet around 70 Nobel Laureates. Since 1951 this meeting has been a great opportunity for cross-generational and interdisciplinary exchange.
