We’re excited to announce an symposium on mouse olfactory research 2025 ECRO (European Chemoreception Research Organisation) Meeting this September.

An exciting year 2024 is coming to an end.
Above all, 2024 was marked by many new members joining RTG2416. Most of the PhD students in the third cohort started their research projects in the second half of the year, and we wish them all every success during their doctoral studies.

RTG2416 Fall Retreat 2024

It was time again for our annual RTG2416 Fall retreat.

This year, we were able to enjoy our stay at the beautiful Seehotel Maria Laach. Located on the grounds of the Benedictine abbey founded in 1093, on the shores of Lake Laach, the hotel provided us with the ideal setting for an intensive and fruitful exchange.

We can look back on a prosperous year 2023, were some of our PhDs successfully graduated, various published papers and, of course, we started our second funding phase which started in April this year.
In 2023 we were again able to organize various LabVisits and guest lectures by speakers from Europe and the USA, our RTG2416 Career Day and of course our traditional RTG2416 Retreats.

We look back on an eventful year 2022.

The projects of the 2nd generation of PhDs have started this year, we were finally able to welcome many guest speakers live on site again and many new puplications have seen the light of day.

But of course we are particularly proud of two things:

RTG 2416 Fall Retreat 2021

Finally, after two virtual retreats our RTG was able to meet in person again!

The longing for a meeting was clearly felt at our first retreat in person since the start of the pandemic.

Congratulation to Dr. rer. nat. Viktoryia Liauchuk

Our warmest congratulations go to Viktoryia Liachuk. She has successfully passed her doctoral examination and may now bear the title Dr. rer. nat.

Viktoryia will stay in our area and start a PostDoc position in the research group of Judith Stegmüller at the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen University.
